What is the GDPR?

GDPR, or the General Data Protection Regulation, is the new European reference text on the protection of personal data.
It reinforces and consolidates data protection for individuals in the European Union.
This regulation replaces the former Directive on the protection of personal data and brings a number of key changes that you should be aware of.
It extends the scope of the law on data protection to all businesses, including companies outside of the EU, when these companies target EU residents.
